Put this date in your diary. It's going to be wild. Up and down the country, people will be taking to the streets to feast together as a community. Street parties, chatter and food. Lots and lots of food. Full-flavoured and fresh plucked from the ground. Yum!

Now's the perfect time to start growing your own fruit and vegetables for The Big Lunch – if you're thinking about growing for the first time there's no better reason to give it a go. Stick in some seeds, take care of them until July and enjoy the moment they turn into some delicious food.
